Tanya Burr Soft Luxe Collection Haul & Review

Hey Everyone,

I’ve always been a huge fan of Tanya and her products, I have watched her for years and I was lucky enough to meet her at the end of last year.
Her products are always of such high quality and she puts so much time, effort and love into every product she creates.

I recently picked up some of the products from Tanya Burr’s Soft Luxe Collection so I thought I would do a mini haul and review for you, to tell you what I thought of the products.

The products that I picked up were the Birthday Suit Eyeshadow Palette, two of the Matte Lip glosses in the shades Puppy Paws and Rhubarb & Custard and two of the matte nail polishes in Soft Pyjamas and New Chapter.

‘Birthday Suit’ Eyeshadow Palette

The shades in the Birthday Suit eyeshadow palette are very pigmented for drugstore eyeshadows. All the shades are so beautiful and wearable and I feel like these shades would look good with any skin colour or any eye colour.
This palette is also so versatile, you could wear it for any occasion – you could wear it on a normal day for school, or going out with friends, which is what I tend to do or you could even wear it on a night out or to a formal event.
For an everyday look you could just use the lighter shades then add the darker shades to transition into the evening.
Another thing I love about Tanya’s eyeshadow palettes is that you have one beautiful eye look in one palette, which makes it so quick and easy and it is also great for travelling.

Matte Lipsticks in the shades ‘Ruhbarb & Custard’ and ‘Puppy Paws’

The first thing I noticed about these lipsticks was the packaging, which is absolutely beautiful and such high quality with the frosted bottle and gold detailing.
I did struggle with the application of these because they were so pigmented, so you only need a tiny bit to cover your whole lips. I have never been very good at applying darker lip shades so it took me a few tries to get it right but with practice you can create some beautiful looks with these lipsticks.
I did find this formula to be quite drying on the lips, but so are most matte lipsticks on the market, so I would recommend maybe applying some lipbalm before you apply the lipstick.
I was also actually quite surprised with how long they stayed on my lips for because they hung around for a good few hours, which I thought was great for an affordable matte lipstick.
I find the lipsticks also go really well with the Birthday Suit Eye shadow palette and create a great make up look.

Matte Nail Polishes in the shades ‘Soft Pyjamas’ and ‘New Chapter’

I love the shades of the nail polishes, they go with lots of what I wear on a daily basis as I tend to wear a lot of grey and black and I love the matte finish as we move from Summer to Autumn.
Also, as I am allowed to wear nail polish to school, they are great neutral shades that go with most of what I wear.
I was very pleasantly surprised at how long the polish lasted on my nails, for me it lasted about 4 or 5 days, which doesn’t sound that long, but for me that is pretty good because it usually comes of quite quickly at school. Also, it is quite impressive due to the fact you can’t put a top coat on if you want to keep the matte finish of the polish.

The shade New Chapter is my favourite nail polish, it is a muted lilacy-grey colour that I have been wearing on a daily basis at the moment.

Overall, I love all of the products in Tanya’s new collection but the Birthday Suit eyeshadow palette and the matte nail polish in the shade New Chapter have to be my favourites.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the new Tanya Burr Cosmetics Soft Luxe Collection.

Current Favourite Books

Hey Everyone,

I have been trying to take a step back from technology recently and do something different such as picking up a book or a magazine or trying a new hobby so I thought I would share with you some of those things that I have been loving.

I have been trying to Eat healthier recently so I wanted to try and make it a bit more fun so I picked up some lovely recipe books that I have been absolutely loving.

The first book I have been loving is ‘Eat Smart’ by Niomi Smart – this is a very new purchase of mine and it is a vegan recipe book; even though I’m not vegan I have really enjoyed making some of the recipes in this book and I can’t wait to try some more.
I was also lucky enough to meet Niomi at one of her book signings recently which was so exciting! She was so lovely and it was so great to meet her, despite the fact I embarrassed myself because I was so nervous that I didn’t know what to say.

Here is me with Niomi at her ‘Eat Smart’ Book signing

The second recipe book I have been loving is ‘The Foodie Teen’ by Alessandra Peters – this book is so inspiring to me because Alessandra is the same age as me and yet she has accomplished so much already, I mean she has her own book!
It just shows that if you are passionate enough about something and you set your mind to it, you can make it happen.
This book has so many amazing and delicious recipes to try and I would definitely recommend that you pick it up – one of my personal favourites are the pancakes.

For my birthday my mum got me a subscription to Blogosphere magazine to help me with my passion for blogging. This month featured Victoria from IntheFrow, which I was very excited about because I have been watching Victoria’s videos for a while now and she is always so positive, happy and inspires me in so many ways. I also got the chance to meet her at Summer in the City (my Sitc post is here), which was amazing and she was so kind and so gorgeous in person.

I have been wanting to try Calligraphy for a while now, one to try and improve my hand writing and two as a way to relax and de-stress.
To get me started I picked up the book ‘Nib & Ink’, which is a beginners guide to Calligraphy and I have absolutely loved using it so far. One of the reasons I purchased this book was because of Lily Pebbles, as she talked about her new found love for Calligraphy in one of her videos.

The final book that I have been loving is ‘Ctrl Alt Delete’ by Emma Gannon – this book is a hilarious account of what it was like growing up with the growth of the internet. It does have some more adult themes but it is really funny and worth a read.

…And those are all the books I have been loving recently! I hope you enjoyed this post, please let me know in the comments if there are any books that you have been loving and recommend because I would love to know.

See you soon,

What’s in my Everyday Make Up Bag?

Hey everyone,

I thought I would share with you what I keep in my everyday make up bag and use on a regular basis.

There is a mixture of drugstore and high end products in here that I have bought and collected over the past few years.

My make up bag is one of the Zoella Beauty Make up bags; I love it because it can fit so much in it, including my make up brushes, which is amazing because you only have to take one make up bag with you when travelling.

PrimerSoap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

I have pretty oily skin so this primer is a really good base for make up as it helps to reduce oiliness.

FoundationHourglass Foundation Stick

This is a product that I have only recently started using but so far it seems pretty good. It is a medium coverage foundation that can probably be built up to high coverage. It cakes up a little bit around my chin but I think that’s because the weather has been quite hot and I have oily skin.

ConcealerNars Radiant Creamy Concealer

This is my favourite concealer that I have tried. It has really high coverage so it is really good at covering spots.

PowderHourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

I really like both of these powders but I use them both for different reasons.

The Hourglass powder is meant to “reduce redness and give skin clarity” and it is great for making your skin look less dull.
The Soap & Glory Powder I use for mattifying my skin; as I have pretty oily skin so this powder really helps to set my make up and reduce shine.

Another powder that I really like is Rimmel Stay Matte Powder but mine recently broke so I switched to using the Soap & Glory one.

Blush Charlotte Tilbury in First Love

This blush was a gift from my mum and it is the first ever product I got from Charlotte Tilbury and I absolutely love it!
It is my perfect blush shade and it is quite subtle so it can be worn as an everyday blush, which I love.

BronzerNars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love

This ‘Bronzer’ is actually a ‘Highlighting Blush’ but I find it a great shade for me as a Bronzer because I have really pale skill so I find most Bronzers are way to orange for me or too dark.

HighlightBecca Champagne Pop by Jaclyn hill

This is something my dad picked up for me when he went to America. I had been wanting it for ages so I asked him if he could pick it up for me. I’m not going to lie that I got very caught up in the YouTube hype around this product as so many people were raving about how great it was.
It is a beautiful golden shimmer, which looks great on most skin tones and I personally love to wear it in the summer as it looks beautiful in the sun light.
It is a very pigmented highlighter and you only need the tiniest amount so it is going to last me for a very long time.

Mascara Diorshow Iconic Overcurl

For me personally, Mascara is one of the make up products that I couldn’t live without.
I have quite light hair and my eyelashes are so light they look pretty much non-existent so I find that mascara makes quite a big difference for me.

Eye PrimerNars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base

This primer is great for keeping your eye shadow in place all day and really helps to stop it creasing.

Eye ShadowBy Terry Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz and Mac Warm Neutrals Palette

This eyeshadow stick is pretty pricy but it is the best one that I have tried. It has amazing staying power and is so pigmented.
Frozen Quartz and Misty Rock are the two that I have and they are both beautiful colours that can be worn with so many different make up looks so they are very versatile.

I got this palette as a Christmas present a few years ago and I absolutely love it.
It has every single eye shadow that I would ever need or use, including a matte black which I attempt to use as a substitute for eyeliner.
My favourite shadow from the palette has to be Amber Lights (second from the right on the middle row) and I love to wear it in Autumn.

Lacome Juciy Shaker in Wonder Melon, Laura Mercier Lipstick in Pink Pout and Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in No.5.

The Lacome Juciy Shaker is such a pretty shade and can either be worn quite sheer or you can apply more to make it more pigmented, which I really like. But you have to be quite careful because when you first apply it, it can appear quite sheer so you may go to put more on but it dries down much darker so that it something to look out for when applying this product.

This Laura Mercier Lipstick is the first high end lipstick my mum ever bought for me so it is quite special to me. I absolutely love the shade of this, I find it complements my skin tone quite well, it can go with many different make up looks and it can be worn at any time of the year, all of which I really like about it.

Finally, this Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector is great for when you don’t want to wear much make up but you want to have a little bit of colour.

Make Up Brushes – Zoeva, Sigma and Real Techniques.

(From Left to Right)

Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush – for applying foundation

Sigma Duo Fibre Powder/Blush Brush – for applying blush

Zoeva Luxe Petite Crease Brush – for applying eye shadow

I hope you enjoyed this post, do let me know in the comments if you would like me to do an updated one for Autumn.

Hopefully see you again next Sunday,

What’s in my Handbag?

Hey Everyone,

I thought I would share with you what is in my handbag as I recently got a new one.

My handbag is the Cameron Street Mini Candice Handbag from Kate Spade in Black – I got this handbag when I was in New York and so it was cheaper than if I bought it in the UK.

It is quite small but it actually fits quite a lot in and I find it is a great size to take on shopping trips or days out as it can keep all of my essentials that I will need for the day.

Firstly, I keep my purse in my bag, which is also from Kate Spade and is the Cameron Street Stacy Purse.
I love this purse because it has a large amount of space to hold cards, which I find very helpful because I have started to use cards more now than coins or cash but it does also have compartments to hold cash and a small zip pouch to store coins just incase.

Obviously, I always take my phone everywhere with me and my bag has the perfect compartment at the front to put my phone in so I can easily access it if I need to.

I keep a small Zoella Beauty Pouch in my bag to keep all of my beauty essentials in – I find that by keeping all my products in here there is no chance of them leaking inside my bag and it keeps them all together in one place.

The things I keep inside the pouch are my ‘One Heck of a Blot’ Powder by Soap & Glory and my Zoeva powder brush, my rollerball perfume or Zoella Beauty solid perfume, the lipstick that I was wearing that day (today it was my Laura Mercier lipstick in ‘Pink Pout’) and my James & Friends pen.

At the moment I have been keeping my sunglasses in my bag as well because the weather has been quite nice but as Autumn comes around I will probably be putting them back in my drawer.

That’s everything that I keep in my handbag on a regular basis!
I hope you enjoyed this post, do let me know if there is any posts you would like to see from me – I am hoping to do some Autumn themed blog posts as Autumn is my favourite season but it depends on how much school work I have.

Thank you for reading and I will see you soon for a new post,
