(High End) Beauty Wish List #1

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my Beauty Wish List; most of these things are high end but there are a few drugstore beauty things as well.

Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder

I have been looking at this for absolutely ages, probably a few years now and have never bought it. To start with I didn’t buy it because I thought the shade would be too dark for me but then they released two new shades, one lighter and one darker. When I saw they released a lighter shade I wanted to try it even more and I am still yet to.

Becca Blushed with light palette

I saw this palette before Christmas and fell in love with it. I have tried the Becca highlighters before and love them so I would love to try the blushes. These shades are so pretty so would love to try them out.

Zoeva Rose Gold Eye Brush Set

I received a set of Zoeva brushes for Christmas a few years ago and they are still going strong and I use them all the time.
I saw this set of eye brushes and thought they were beautiful – I don’t have many eyeshadow brushes so thought this set would be very useful. Plus they are rose gold, what more could you want?

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips

PicMonkey Collage.jpg

I have always been a fan of Charlotte Tilbury products – they are such amazing quality and the packaging is gorgeous. I have one lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury already from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range in the shade Bitch Perfect which I love but I would love to try some more, especially from the Hot Lips range.
The three shades that I like the look of are Kidman’s Kiss, Hot Emily and Super Cindy.

Fairydrops Mascara

I have heard some great things about this mascara and would love to try it out. Mascara is one of the two make up products that I wouldn’t be able to live without so I am always looking for new mascaras to try out. This mascara comes in a regular version and a waterproof version and I am on the look out for a new waterproof mascara so would love to give this a go.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Lipstick Charms

These lipsticks are from the Charlotte Tilbury Christmas 2016 range and when I saw them I thought they were so cute. The shades are really pretty and because they are so mini I thought they would be great to keep in your handbag – not sure how much longer they will be around for though.

Real Techniques Setting Brush

I have always loved Real Techniques brushes and I have heard so many people talk about how good the Setting Brush is so would love to try it to see if it is worth the hype.

NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette

Blush is one of my favourite make up products so I love how this palette has lots of different colours to try. I probably wouldn’t use all these blushes but I would wear most of them – also, I like to wear different blushes depending on the time of year so this would be great to have to transition between seasons.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

I found this product after Anna from TheAnnaEdit talked about it on her blog and on her YouTube channel. After I heard her talk about it I knew it was something I wanted to try. I have really pale skin so I have to wear high SPF anyway so I like how this has the SPF in the product already. I have heard that it has pretty high coverage considering it is a CC cream so would 100% love to give this a try but it is quite hard to get hold of in the UK.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection

When I saw this collection after its release I swooned – the colours are beautiful and are right up my street. I would love to get my hands on both of these products and give them a try because they look gorgeous.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about the beauty products I would love to try – let me know if there are any other products you think I should try.

See you next week with a new post,

Lazy Winter Days

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my favourite things to do on a cold January day, when I’m feeling lazy and need to have a bit of relaxation.

1. Watch my favourite TV shows

My favourite thing to do on a day when it is cold outside and I just want to stay at home is to watch my favourite TV shows. My all time favourite TV show is Glee so I either get out my box set and sit and watch some episodes or I just watch all the musical performances as they are my favourite to watch and sing along to.
At the moment though I am also re-watching Gossip Girl, which I love! I love the characters plus it is set in New York, my favourite city in the world. Also, a new season of Shadowhunters has just come out which I am watching every week and it is another one of my favourite shows.
2. Read a good book

I often forget about reading books I enjoy as I am either reading educational books for school or I just go and watch TV, YouTube or go on my phone rather than picking up a good book.
At the moment I am reading ‘Scrappy Little Nobody’ by Anna Kendrick and I am really enjoying it so far. I am planning on doing a review on it when I have finished reading it so let me know if that is something you would like to read.

3. Paint my nails

Painting my nails is one of the beauty tasks that I really don’t like doing, I am quite impatient so I get quite bored when trying to paint my nails but when I have a longer period of time or I am watching a film I will sit down and paint my nails and I am always happy I did afterwards.

4. Have a nice warm bath

Baths are one of my favourite things to have in the winter time when it is cold and miserable outside. I find it a wonderful time to just completely relax and unwind and forget about all the stress and things you have to do. I also sometimes spend the time catching up on YouTube videos or watching a film to really chill.

5. Spend time with friends and family

When we are all so busy it is really hard to find time to spend time with family and friends outside of work or school so these days when everyone has nothing on it is nice to catch up with friends or spend time with family at home.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some things to do on these cold, winter’s days we have been having in the UK recently.

See you next week with a new post!

Beauty Discoveries of 2016

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my Beauty Discoveries of 2016.
I discovered some amazing products in 2016 from Skincare, to Make up and more.

(From Left to Right)

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer: I use this product pretty much every day without fail. I use it on days where I’m not wearing a full face of makeup, so when I go to school or just out and about. It is so great and makes your eyelashes look so long and separated. I also use it as it’s meant to be, as a primer underneath mascara and that also works really well.

Revlon ColourStay Foundation: I first discovered this foundation by chance when I needed a foundation for my school ball and I recently re-purchased it with the new pump lid and I have been reaching for it pretty much every time I want to wear a full face of make up.

Body Shop Lightening Drops: I have the most annoying problem of having ridiculously pale skin and I can never find a foundation that matches my skin colour. When I saw that these existed I was so happy and they have become my life saver! You just add these drops to your regular foundation and it makes it lighter, so you can match your foundation to your skin colour. They also do darkening drops to make your foundation darker.

Tanya Burr Lipstick in Pink Cocoa: This was a discovery I found towards the end of the year, about September time but I absolutely love it. Tanya released some new make up products, which included a range of lipsticks and I picked this one up and has become one of my favourite lipsticks. It is a lovely browny, pink and is perfect for autumn winter time.

Nars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love: This is meant to be a highlighting blush but I actually use it as a bronzer/contour shade and because I have very pale skin it works really well. It is slightly shimmery so it isn’t perfect for contouring but I really like it and use it regularly.

Hourglass Powder in Diffused Light: My mum got me this powder for my birthday and I absolutely love it. It is a nice alternative to using a mattifying powder as it makes your skin look more glowy and pretty. It is also lovely to use in the summer.

Tanya Burr Baby It’s Cold Outside Cheek Palette: I haven’t had this for very long but I just had to include it because I love it so much. The blush and highlight shades in this palette are beautiful and are perfect for autumn and winter but I would probably wear them all year round.  It isn’t the best for travelling because the packaging is quite bulky but I would take it anyway because I use it all the time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette: I have featured this palette in quite a few blog posts last year – I picked this up when I went to New York in August as it was cheaper over there but I love it. The shades are so beautiful and are such good quality and I have been wearing them a lot through autumn and winter.

Zoella Beauty Hungry Hands Hand Cream: This hand cream is from Zoe’s Christmas range and I absolutely love it. The scent is the first thing that I love because it smells of gingerbread and all things Christmassy but it also makes your hands feel so soft.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish: The cleanse & polish itself isn’t a new discovery as I have been using it for quite a while but at Christmas they released a new scent (sweet orange and clove) which is my all time favourite and reminds me of Christmas.

Huygens Exfoliating Cream: I first tried this product quite a while ago when I got a sample in a Birch-box and loved it so I purchased the full size. I don’t use it all the time, I just use it when I feel like my skin needs an exfoliate and it makes my skin feel really soft and clean.

Zoella Beauty Le Fizz: In the summer Zoe released a new range of products with a new scent and I love it. My two favourite products from the whole range were the Bath Fizzers and the Bubble Bath – they smell amazing and are the perfect mix for a lovely bath.

Aveda Stress Fix Bath Salts: These salts are so lovely and make me feel so relaxed. They have the most amazing smell that instantly make you feel relaxed, I use these in the bath whenever I feel stressed and need to chill.

Smith & Cult Nail Polish:  2016 was the year I fell in love with Smith & Cult Nail Polishes. I first discovered them when Anna from TheAnnaEdit talked about them on her YouTube channel and blog; when she mentioned the colour Doe My Dear I just knew I had to pick it up. When we went to New York in August I picked up three colours as they were cheaper in the US than in the UK. They still aren’t the cheapest nail polishes but they are such good quality and last so long on your nails so I would 100% say they are worth it.

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know what your beauty favourites of 2016 were in the comments.

Blogger Recognition Award

Hey Everyone,

This is a short middle of the week blog post that I didn’t expect to be making – I was kindly nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award so I thought I would share this post and all of my nominations.

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog

2. Write a post to show your award

3. Give a brief story of how your blog started

4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers

5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to

6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them & provide the link to the post you created.

I was nominated by Alice, an amazing blogger who posts about beauty, baking, travel and so much more and she deserves so many more followers so go and check her blog out!

How my blog started…

I actually created my blog over a year ago but didn’t start posting anything on it until towards the end of last year.

I have followed bloggers and YouTubers for a long time now, my favourites being Zoella, Lily Pebbles, TheAnnaEdit and HelloOctober, and have always said to myself that I would love to do something like that and become a blogger myself and one day I just thought I’m going to start.

I am quite a creative person and I love photography so the thought of starting a blog has always excited me and I am so glad I did because I love it so much and have met so many like minded people in the process.

Advice to new bloggers…

I’m not sure I’m one to be giving advice as I am still a new blogger myself but it’s amazing what you can learn in a short period of time.

My first piece of advice would be to stay true to yourself and don’t compare yourself and your blog to others. There will always be things that you like about other blogs, whether that is their design or their photography style but as long as you stay true to yourself, then your passion and creativity will show in what you create.

My second piece of advice would be to talk to like minded bloggers and engage with them and what they create to share tips, ideas etc. Most people in the blogging community are so lovely and are always happy to chat so engage in Blogger chats on Twitter to talk to other bloggers with the similar opinions or ideas as you.

The 15 people I would love to nominate for this award are from #TheBloggingFriends group chat that was made to bring bloggers together and I have found so much inspiration from them all and they have helped me so much.

1. Peta
2. Emm Joy
3. Corinne & Kirsty
4. Jenny
5. Jay
6. Char
7. Elena
8. Claire
9. Emma
10. Holly
11. Phoebe
12. Shannon
13. Loren
14. Ksenia
15. Kayte

I hope you enjoyed this short post in the middle of the week.

Make sure to go and check out the blogs of everyone I nominated!

See you on Sunday with a new post,

New Year, New Me?

Hey Everyone,

First of all, Happy New Year!! How is it 2017 all ready?
I hope you all enjoyed my first attempt at Blogmas, I really enjoyed doing it and will hopefully be able to do it again this year.

Today I thought I would share with you my New Year’s Resolutions or Goals that I want to try and achieve this year. This year is my last year of school so it is going to be hard but I am quite excited for school to be finished…just have to get through my exams first!

1. Take a step back from technology and spend time doing other things I love

I spend a lot of my time on my phone or my laptop and on social media and mixed with school work I don’t really have a lot of time for other things such as reading for fun. Technology is now such a large part of our lives and it can be hard to ignore but I really want to try and focus my downtime on other things.

2. Keep my room and work space tidy

When my room is untidy I tend to get more stressed and when I want to relax I can’t unwind because of the amount of mess I have around me. Also, if my desk is messy I find it really hard to work and focus on what I am doing because there is so much going on around me.

3. Get into a routine in the evenings

I want to try and go to bed on time and around the same time every night – this can be hard with school because of everything that I have going on in the evening but I want to try and get a good sleeping pattern. I always have problem going to sleep and sticking to a routine so I want to try and make this happen.

4. Turn off all technology at least 30 minutes before I go to bed

This one is going to be quite hard for me because I always go on my phone to check social media, talk to my friends or watch YouTube or Netflix but I want to try and do other things before I go to bed such as reading to help me get a better nights sleep.

5. Spend time with people who make me feel happy and positive

Last year I had a few problems with friends and I let that get me down quite a lot and it really affected me but this year rather than focus on the negatives I want to focus on the positives and spend time with people who really make me happy.

6. Get into a regular posting schedule on my blog

I did quite well at the end of last year with posting on a regular basis and it made me feel really proud of myself so I want to try and keep doing that this year. But I also don’t want it to get me down if I do miss a week or two because of school work because no matter how much I love blogging my school work is still really important.

7. Try new things and learn new skills

There are so many things I said I wanted to do last year but never got around to doing. I have always wanted to know how to do calligraphy and improve my handwriting so I want to either teach myself or go on a course, little things like that I want to try and achieve this year among other things such as:

  • Go on a Calligraphy Course
  • Go on a Jessops Photography Course
  • Go to a Biscuiteers Icing Class
  • Learn how to do Yoga
  • Take more photos for fun

These things may seem quite simple to some people but for me some of these things will be out of my comfort zone and I need to try and push myself to try new things.

I hope you enjoyed this post with the things I want to achieve this year and maybe it gave you some inspiration for your New Year’s Resolutions?

See you next week with a new post,
