Reading has always been one of my favourite things to do ever since I was a child. I love getting lost in a different world full of my favourite characters. As summer is coming up I thought I would share my Summer Reading List 2017 with all the books I am hoping to read this summer.
Because I was revising for my A-Levels over the past year I never really got the chance to do much reading for fun so I made a list of books that I wanted to try and read over the summer.
I WAS HERE – Gayle Forman
This was a book from the Zoella Bookclub last year that I haven’t got round to reading yet.
I have read another of Gayle Forman’s books called ‘If I Stay’ before and have loved it so thought I would give this one a try as well.
I Was Here by Gayle Forman follows Cody as she struggles to understand what led to her best friend’s decision to take her own life. Could Meg really have had this side to her life that Cody knew nothing about, or did something sinister lead her friend down this path?
ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES – Jennifer Niven
This is another book from the Zoella Bookclub that I have yet to read – I started reading it a few years ago but got distracted so didn’t continue reading it but thought it would be a good idea to give it another go.
When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.
GIRLBOSS – Sophia Amoruso
I have heard so many people talking about how amazing and inspiring this book is and have been wanting to give it a read for a while now.
I also wanted to read it before watching the new Netflix TV show on it.
GIRL CODE – Cara Alwill Leyba
I saw this book on Amazon when looking for Girl Boss and thought it look really inspiring.
I don’t know much about the book but I hoped that it might help me be more inspired and productive when working on my blog.
ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST – Laura Jane Williams
This is another book that so many people have been talking about and I have been wanting to read for ages.
I finally picked it up and thought it would be a great summer read.
Full of spirit and un-self-conscious enthusiasm, Ice Cream for Breakfast: Child-Like Solutions to Bullsh*t Adult Problems is the permission slip all too-grown-up-for-their-own-good-but-secretly-scared-of-adulting adults need to locate their inner-child nestled deep within, so that we might all relax enough to laugh harder, wonder more, and marvel at magic on the daily.
LORD OF SHADOWS – Cassandra Clare
I have already read the first book from this series, called ‘Lady Midnight’, this summer which was amazing so I wanted to read the second one in the series.
I have actually already started reading this book and I am loving it so far.
Cassandra Clare is my favourite author and I have read pretty much every book she has published and the whole Shadowhunters world of books that she has created is my favourite series of books.
I would highly recommend any of her books, especially if you love books that are a bit dark, fantasy, love, friendship and much more.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know if you have read any of these books and what you thought of them.
In the future I might do a post on my all time favourite books, let me know if that is something you would like to see.
See you next week with a new post,
