As you may know from my Travel Anxiety Tips a few weeks ago I went to New York for a few days last week and while I was there I visited the Glossier showroom and I picked up a few products so I thought I would do a Glossier Haul & Mini Review.
I had heard so many bloggers talk about Glossier, specifically Anna from TheAnnaEdit and Lily Pebbles, so I thought while I was in New York I would check it out.
I had a few items on my list including the Milky Jelly Cleanser and the Super Pure serum and I picked up a few other bits.
In this post I thought I would describe the experience of going to the Glossier showroom and the products that I purchased.
The whole experience of visiting the Glossier showroom as a whole was great!
When you first arrive to the building it really doesn’t look like much and it does look quite strange but there is a lady waiting in the foyer of the building wearing a baby pink jumpsuit and they direct you to the lift to take you to the penthouse at the top of the building.
All around the room there are white blocks with the products displayed on top of them.
All these displays allow you to try out the products you want and see them in person before buying them.
To order the products you want you have to speak to one of the ladies in the pink jumpsuits and they will fill out a form for you with all the products you want (as shown in the photo below).
You then take that form up and take it to the till and another lady will take your payment and then go and package up your products.
All in all I thought it was a very efficient process and I found the whole experience of shopping in Glossier very pleasant.
However, I have to say, if I hadn’t heard about Glossier from other bloggers there is no way that I would have visited it – it isn’t in a very busy part of New York and is tucked away on a street that I wouldn’t normally visit as a tourist.
Also, if you didn’t know what to expect it may seem very strange that you have to go up in a lift to the top floor to find the shop.
Milky Jelly Cleanser
As I said before I knew I wanted to pick up the Milky Jelly Cleanser as I had heard so many great things about it. I have quite oily skin so I don’t usually go for products like this but as we are moving into the colder months here in the U.K. and my skin gets drier I thought it would be great.
I have tried it since I purchased it and I absolutely love it – it makes my skin feel so soft after using it and it hydrates the skin without it being too greasy.
When using it alongside the super pure serum it makes my skin feel and look great, which I love!
Super Pure Serum
This is another one of the products that I really wanted to try because I had heard great things about it.
I have only been using it for about a week so I can’t give a proper review on it, but I might do once I have been using it for a good length of time, but so far I have really been loving it.
This serum is meant to ‘soothe redness and help calm blemishes’ and I do think that so far it has helped both of those things – I have a lot of redness on my cheeks and after applying this I do see a very small difference in my skin. I also get a lot of spots on my chin and when I applied this in the evening I woke up and could see that some of the spots had reduced a bit and the scaring from previous ones had calmed down a bit.
I’m still testing it but so far so good – I’m sure if it turns out to work really well you will hear about it in a monthly favourites soon.
Mega Greens Galaxy Pack Mask
I have been looking for a new face mask for a while to help with calming my skin and reducing the oily-ness and spots etc. so when I saw glossier did a detoxifying face mask I knew I had to try it.
So far I have used it once and really liked it; it made my skin feel really soft and it definitely helped calm my skin.
I need to test it a bit more to really see if it helps significantly but after one use I do really like it and will continue to use it.
Wowder Powder & Brush
As I have oily skin I am always looking to test out new powders so when I saw Glossier did one I had to pick it up.
They have a deal where you can buy the powder and the brush together and it works out cheaper so I thought I would do that as the brush will be super helpful for putting in your handbag or when traveling – and it comes in the cutest little pouch which will be perfect for putting in your handbag.
I haven’t had a chance to try the powder yet because I am waiting to finish up one I am currently using but if I really like it I’m sure it will feature in a monthly favourites.
Balm Dot Com Lipbalm
This is one of the cult Glossier products that I have heard everyone talk about so I thought I would pick some up and you can never have too many lipbalms, especially now as we are coming into Autumn/Winter in the UK.
With the balm dot coms I actually bought three but my mum wanted one so I got the set of three as it worked out cheaper than buying them separately.
The flavours that I got were ‘Coconut’ and ‘Birthday’ and my mum got the ‘Mint’ one.
They are super moisturising and really help with dry and chapped lips.
One of my favourite things about shopping at Glossier is the amazing pink pouches that they give you when you buy the products.
The products are packaged up in these great pink bubble-wrapped zip lock bags that I am going to be using continuously from now on.
You also get free stickers with every purchase which I loved as well (my inner child was very happy – yes I am about 5 years old at heart!).
When I was there I really wanted to buy the Glossier sweatshirt because I had seen Lily and Anna wearing them and fell in love but they only had XS left in the showroom – I was really disappointed because I needed a larger size but Glossier don’t currently ship to the UK (hopefully will be soon though).
But amazingly as my dad was in New York for business, he asked one of his work colleagues and he has ordered it for me and is sending it to me in the UK so it should be coming in the next week or so which I am so excited about!
There are also some of the other products that, now looking back, I wish I did pick up but I am hoping that Glossier will ship to the UK soon so I can order the ones I missed out on and re-purchase products that I am currently loving out of the ones I already purchased.
While my mum and I were walking around New York we also saw this amazing painting on the side of a building of the new Glossier products so I thought I would include it.
I hope you enjoyed this post – sorry it was quite long and rambly but I really enjoyed writing it!
Let me know if you have tried and of the Glossier products and what you thought of them; especially if you have been to the showroom in New York, I would love to hear your thoughts!
