Autumn Makeup Routine 2017

Autumn Makeup Routine 2017

Today I thought I would share with you my Autumn Makeup Routine 2017 – I did one of these in the Summer, which you can read here, and lots of people seemed to like it so I thought I would share my Autumn one.
Autumn is my favourite season for many reasons, one of them being the make up; I love wearing brown and copper eyeshadows and red and berry lipsticks I just think it is so beautiful.

I have been trying out quite a few new products for Autumn and have been loving them all so thought I would share them with you. Also, be warned, there are quite a few Glossier products in this post….I may be obsessed!

Primer: Too Faced Primed & Peachy

This is a new primer that I have been using recently that I picked up when I went to New York in September and I have really been liking it so far.
It really helps keep my skin matte and helps my make up last throughout the day so I would recommend this if you have oily skin like me and struggle with oiliness.
It comes out in a pinky coral shade but just blends into the skin so easily and it also has a cooling effect on the skin which I really like.

Foundation: IT Cosmetics CC Cream

If you follow my blog regularly you are probably fed up of hearing about this product because I talk about it all the time in any of my make up related posts but it is because I just love it so much.
This is the only foundation that I have been using pretty much all this year and I am in love with it and don’t want to try anything else.
It is called a CC Cream but it has such great coverage and makes your skin look amazing.
I have oily skin and I still use this even though it gives a more dewy finish and is probably for people with dryer skin but I still absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.

Concealer: Nars Soft Matte Concealer and Glossier Stretch Concealer

I have been using two concealers at the moment the Nars one and the Glossier one.
I have been using the Nars one for a few months now and love it as it gives such great coverage but it doesn’t look cakey and I have nearly finished a whole pot of it.
I just recently started using the Glossier one over the past week or so as I picked it up in my last Glossier Haul (post coming soon…) as I have heard so many people say great things about it. I have been liking it so far but it is very different to the Nars concealer as it is much more sheer and glossy than matte so I’m not 100% sure what I think of it yet but I will keep using it and I’m sure you will hear about it again if I love it.

Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and Glossier Wowder

I have also been using two powders at the moment the Laura Mercier one and the Glossier one.
I have been using the Laura Mercier for quite a long time now and love it for setting my make up and helping me stay matte but I recently started trying the Glossier powder.
I really like it because it has a bit of colour to it rather than being completely translucent so it gives a tiny bit more coverage and colour.
I would say that the Laura Mercier powder is better for helping me stay matte but I am going to keep trying them both and see how it goes.

For my cheeks I have actually been using all Glossier products; I got them all recentely when I purchased a few of the Glossier make up products and have been really liking them so far.
I also haven’t been using any bronzer recently – I just sometimes feel like it doesn’t look right on me because I have such pale skin and ginger hair so I have gone off it at the moment.

Blush: Glossier Cloud Paints in Dusk and Haze

I had heard so many people talk about how great these were so I just had to give them a try and I have been really liking them so far. I thought the colour Haze (purpley one) would be perfect for Autumn and I love it but it is quite hard to apply because it is highly pigmented and can look a bit scary so it does take me quite a while to make it look right but once it is on I really like the look of it.

Highlight: Glossier Haloscope in Quartz

I have really been loving highlighter at the moment so I knew I had to pick up the Glossier Haloscope and I really like it.
I love the shade because it gives you a beautiful highlight without being too over the top and sparkly.

Eyebrows: Tanya Burr Cosmetics Selfie Sculpt in Blonde and Glossier Boy Brow in Clear

For my eyebrows I have been using two new products from Tanya Burr Cosmetics and Glossier and have been loving the combination of them both.
I have been looking for a good eyebrow product for a while because I love the Hourglass eyebrow pencil/product thing but it is so expensive that I wasn’t really willing to purchase it again but it was the only product that I could find to match my eyebrow colour because I have ginger hair but then I found this Tanya Burr one.
This product is very similar to the hourglass one but it is just a bit harder to work with and I do find that the colour doesn’t match quite as well but I’m okay with that because it is pretty much a third of the price. It also has a spoolie on the end which is perfect for brushing out your brows.
I love the Glossier Boy Brow because it has such a tiny little brush so it helps with precision and the product itself is so good at keeping your eyebrows in place.

Eyeshadow Primer: Nars Smudge-proof Eyeshadow Base

This is the only eyeshadow primer that I use and I think I will ever use because it is so great! This may be TMI but I get really oily eyelids so I find it really hard to keep eyeshadow on my eyelids but this helps so much and keeps my eyeshadow lasting all day.
If you have the same problem, you should definitely purchase this.

Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and Mac Shadows in Saddle and Amber Lights

If you saw my Naked Heat Palette Review, you would know that I am in love with this palette!
This palette was released in the summer but I think it is the PERFECT Autumn Palette – it is full of beautiful orange, browns, reds and copper shades that I just love so much!
I also love mac eyeshadows because they last so long on my eyelids and look beautiful – my two all time favourites are Mac Saddle and Mac Amber Lights. They both look amazing together or on their own and the are perfect Autumnal shades.

Mascara: Tanya Burr Cosmetics Selfie Lash Mascara

This is a new mascara that I have been trying over the past few weeks and I absolutely love it!
Lots of people say that it is great for volumising their lashes but I found that is was perfect for lengthening and defining the lashes which is what I love in a mascara so I just think it depends on how much you put on or how you do it.
I also love that it is a lot cheaper than my previous favourite mascara which is Benefit Roller Lash so this is my new favourite mascara.

Lipbalm: Glossier Coconut Balm Dot Com

In Autumn and Winter, lipbalm is an essential for me because my lips get so dry and chapped so I am always on the look out for new lipbalms. When I saw that Glossier did one and so many people raved about it I knew I had to pick it up.
I have two of the flavours in Coconut and Birthday and the coconut one is my favourite – I am not usually a coconut fan but in this I love it. It is so moisturising on the lips and makes them feel so soft; I especially love using it before I go to bed or while I am applying my make up to make my lipstick go on smoother.

Lipsticks: Rimmel Kate Moss 107 (Red), Glossier Generation G in Jam (White packaging) and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (purple)

I have a few favourite Autumnal lipsticks, one old favourite and two new ones.
My old favourite is the Rimmel Kate Moss 107, this is so many peoples favourites and has been talked about online for years but I still love it and use it regularly and I think it looks great on so many people.
My two new favourites are the Glossier Generation G lipstick in Jam and the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in this beautiful dark purple colour.
They are quite similar colours but have very different finishes – the Glossier one is much more sheer but you can build it up whereas the Bourjois one is like a liquid lipstick so it is much more pigmented and darker. I did find it quite hard to apply to start with and wasn’t sure about it but now I have used it more I really like it.

Here are some of the products that I mentioned in this post if you wanted to check them out:
