Aspyn Ovard x Tarte Eye and Cheek Palette Review

Aspyn Ovard x Tarte Eye and Cheek Palette Review

A few weeks ago I received my Aspyn Ovard x Tarte Palette in the post and I was so so excited and couldn’t wait to use it! I have been using it pretty much every day since I got it so I thought I would do an Aspyn Ovard x Tarte Eye and Cheek Palette Review.

I was very impressed that it managed to come all the way from America and got to me in one piece with no breakages and it actually came pretty quickly considering it came from America and I didn’t pay for faster shipping or anything.
I ordered it on 13th May, I got an email saying it had been shipped on 14th May and received it on 22nd May – which I think is pretty impressive.

When I first heard that Aspyn was releasing a palette I knew I had to get it before I’d even seen what it looked like but when I saw it, it exceeded all my expectations and made me want it even more.

The price of this palette is £33 then I paid £12.92 for shipping.
I personally think the price for this palette is so reasonable considering what you get in it. You get a blush, highlighter and 9 eyeshadows.

The packaging of this product is FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! I honestly think it is the prettiest palette I have ever seen and it is definitely the prettiest in my collection.
First of all it’s rose gold and I love rose gold but it also has these beautiful flowers all over it that make it look so pretty.
I also think that the packaging reflects Aspyn’s own personality and style in it which I love.
Even the box that this palette came in was beautiful and it reflected the style of the palette.

Another thing that I LOVE about this palette is the huge mirror inside – so many palettes don’t come with mirrors or if they do the mirrors are tiny and not really good enough to be able to do your make up in. But this one has a giant mirror that is perfect for doing your make up in and I am very happy about it.

The formula for all of these shades is so great – they are all so pigmented and easy to blend and a little goes a long way. As this is a collaboration with Tarte I was expecting it to be great and it definitely met my expectations.

The blush is such a pretty shade that will look beautiful on so many skin tones – as I said before a little goes a long way so you really don’t need a lot.

The one shade in the palette that I’m not sure about is the highlighter; it is a beautiful shade that I think will look so pretty on so many people but it has quite chunky glitter in it that I’m not really sure I like. I am going to continue using it to see how I feel but at the moment it is the only thing I don’t like about the palette.

The eyeshadows in this palette are basically the reason I bought it…I only really wear natural, warm toned eyeshadows which is exactly what this palette is full of. I love a good warm matte brown colour but I also love a good shimmery colour as well and this palette has both of those.

The colours are all so natural so they are really easy to wear and there are also so many shades so you can create so many different looks with these.

My favourite combination of these shades is:
Santorini Sands blended all over the lid as a base
High school Sweetheart and Tea Time through the crease
Heart of gold all over the lid
Endless summer or Brilliance in the inner corner
Tea time underneath the eye
Occasionally I will put some Road Trip in the crease to darken it up a bit

One thing I do find with these eyeshadows though is that the shimmery shades also have quite a lot of chunky glitter so they are super hard to apply with a brush as nothing really comes off on the brush so I found the best way to apply them is with your finger. When you apply them with your finger you get much better colour pay off and it is much easier to apply.

I know this is a big statement but I honestly think this is my perfect palette and is definitely my favourite palette that I currently have in my collection!
