If you having been following my blog for a while then you will know that the It Cosmetics CC Cream is one of my favourite make up products because I talk about it all the time. So when I heard they were releasing a new formula of the CC Cream which is matte I was so excited; my skin is pretty oily so I sometimes found the original CC Cream made my skin look greasy rather than glowy and I prefer matte formulas of foundations. So today’s post will be an IT Cosmetics CC Cream Comparison: Original vs Matte.
For some reason I found the colour match of the matte formula better than the original even though I have the same shade in both.
I found that with the original one, that I would have to make sure to put on a primer and set the CC cream to reduce the oiliness throughout the day then I would have to apply powder again throughout the day because it would get quite oily around my nose. With the matte one, however, I found that I don’t necessarily have to put on a primer to make it last all day. Usually I will put on a primer though just because I really enjoy using it. I will then set my make up with a translucent powder and after that I usually don’t have to touch it up with powder at all throughout the day, which is amazing.
One thing I will say is that I did like the dewiness that the original one gives because I feel like the matte one can sometimes make my skin look quite flat. But if you put the right kind of products on top you can make it look quite nice; such as if you use cream products for blush and highlighter then it can add some glow back into your skin.
I think that I am going to continue using both of them because I still have about half left in my original one so I don’t want it to go to waste.
I think that the original one will probably be better for winter because it gives that dewy look to the skin and my skin tends to be drier in the winter than the summer so that will help. As the other one is a matte finish, this will help in the summer when my skin is oilier.
However, it is now super cold in the UK and is feeling like winter but I have still been using the matte version and it isn’t too drying on the skin.
One thing that I would also definitely recommend is using the double ended foundation brush from It Cosmetics – it is on the pricier side but I found that when using it my foundation went on so much smoother and it looked so much nicer and more natural on the skin.
Overall, I think I do prefer the matte formula of this CC Cream because my skin is more oily so I find the matte finish helps my make up stay on for longer and it keeps it looking fresh and nice for longer.
If you have oily skin I would definitely recommend the matte version but if your skin is on the drier side then I would probably say to go for the original one; it just depends really what kind of finish you prefer for your skin.
