May Favourites 2017

Today I’m doing another Monthly Favourites, I haven’t done one of these posts since March because I don’t really try many new things because I’m at school most of the time!

I have a few favourites though that I have been loving over the past month or so – a few of them you may have seen already in my ‘What I got for my 18th Birthday’ post.

I have two beauty favourites this month – the Hourglass lip stylo in ‘Creator’ and Mac ‘All That Glitters’ Eyeshadow.

I had heard so many beauty bloggers talking about the Hourglass lip stylo and I thought I would look into it and see what all the hype was about. When my mum and I were in John Lewis I thought I would give it a try and I fell in love with it. When I first saw the list of names for the lipsticks I really loved ‘Creator’ but didn’t know it would suite me but when I tried it on it actually did which I was really happy about.

I got this Mac eyeshadow when I was in Dubai airport as I was looking for a new eyeshadow to wear on holiday. The lady didn’t actually tell me what the shade was called and when I looked at it later I noticed it was ‘All That Glitters’ which is an eyeshadow I remember Lily Pebbles saying that she loved.
I tried it on when I was on holiday and loved it and wore it every day after that. It is such an easy eyeshadow to wear and you can wear it alone or with other eyeshadows but it looks so beautiful and I have been wearing it every since (when I do wear choose to wear make up).

I have one fashion favourite this month which is this beautiful pair of embroidered jeans from Topshop. My mum saw these and ordered them for me and when I saw them I fell in love!

Topshop jeans are my favourite jeans because they fit me so well and they are so comfy – the only downside for me is that when you wash them they discolour quite quickly and because they aren’t the cheapest, this can be quite annoying.

I love the embroidery on the back of these jeans as they add a little bit extra to a plain outfit. I am definitely going to be wearing these the whole way through spring and summer.

You may have seen this items already in my ‘What I got for my 18th birthday’ post but I have been wearing them all ever since I got them because I love them so much.
They all go so well together and also go with pretty much everything I wear so they have been firm favourites for May and will be for the rest of the year.

I have been looking for a card holder for ages as I wanted something that I could just keep a few cards in and a bit of cash when I didn’t want to take my whole purse with me and when I saw this one on Asos I knew it was perfect.
I love the colour of it and it is such good quality because it is from Whistles and I can’t wait to use this properly.

Earlier this month Lily Pebbles and Anna Gardner, from TheAnnaEdit, announced that they would be doing a podcast and I was very excited about this because I am a huge fan of Lily and Anna and they are my favourite YouTubers and Bloggers so anything they release I get very excited for.
I have listened to all the episodes so far (only 3 at the moment) and my favourite one so far was with Kate La Vie.
I love how they have created something a bit different that isn’t necessarily beauty or fashion related and I really like that. I can’t wait for more episodes to come out.
The episodes are available every Wednesday at 6am and you can listen to the podcasts on the Apple Podcast app or the Acast app. Find it here.

I have also been watching the Vampire Diaries for the past few months. So many people had told me to watch this and finally I decided to give it a go as I needed something new to watch and I love it.
There is a lot of blood and guts in it as you would expect with a show about Vampires and I am not great with blood but I just try to ignore that part of it.
I am currently on Season 5 and am loving it – I do know lots of what happens in future Seasons like who dies and what relationships happen but that doesn’t really bother me and I am still going to keep watching.
My favourite character is Alaric for some reason…I don’t really know why but I think he is really funny and just great! I also love Damon with all of his witty and sarcastic comments. And Damon and Alaric’s friendship is just so cute.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about what I have been loving for the past few months.
Let me know if you have tried, watched or listened to anything I mentioned – especially Lily and Anna’s podcast as I would love to chat to people about it.

See you next week with a new post,

March Favourites 2017

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my March Favourites. I didn’t do a February Favourites so I have quite a few things to share with you that I have been loving over the past two months.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream – I have been wanting to try this for soo long after I saw Anna from TheAnnaEdit raving about it but I couldn’t find somewhere to buy it in the UK.
I finally found a website where I could get it sent to the UK without a ridiculous price for shipping. The website is called Beautylish and there are so many amazing brands on there and lots that we can’t get here in the UK.
I had never tried anything from IT Cosmetics before so I didn’t really know whether I would like their products so was a bit nervous to buy a full size of the CC Cream incase I didn’t like it. But as I was browsing I found that they did a smaller tester version of the CC Cream, which I was so happy about because it meant that I could test it out before buying the full product. I tried it and loved it so I have now purchased the full size.
This CC Cream is a fuller coverage CC Cream, obviously not as full coverage as a foundation but it’s not a light coverage. It is a hydrating cream so is quite glowy, which is something I don’t usually go for because I have quite oily skin but I really like it. Another thing I love is that it has factor 50+ and because I have such pale skin and I burn really easily, it is great.

Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer – this is a new concealer from Nars and I had heard so many people talking about it that I wanted to give it a try.
My all time favourite concealer is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer so I had high hopes about this concealer and I love it.
It has very high coverage but isn’t too cakey, which is great and works great on it’s own or with foundation. It is also great for touch ups during the day as it blends in well over the top of foundation.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – this favourite is nothing new and it is something so many people have spoken about but it is a new favourite for me.
I have always been a big fan of Beauty Blenders but I have fallen out of love with them recently so thought I would try the Real Techniques one and was very happy with the results. I like how there is a pointed end as well as a flat side so you can easily apply products to every part of your face.

I have been looking for a long sleeve grey body suit for a long time now and have never found the right one, until I saw this one in M&S.
It fits so well and doesn’t feel uncomfortable – I love the colour and the fit of it and it is perfect for the transition between winter and spring.
I love wearing it with black high waisted jeans as more of a casual look but you can also dress it up with a skirt and boots.

I have been loving quite a few films and TV shows over the past few months but here are my top 3 favourites.

Firstly, the TV show that I have been loving this month is Riverdale.
I’m sure a lot of you will have heard of it, but if you haven’t, it is a new TV show on Netflix that started at the beginning of this year.
I featured the show in my blog post two weeks ago where I talked about my 5 Favourite TV Shows to Binge Watch, which you can check out here.

Riverdale Synopsis: Set in the present day and based on the iconic Archie Comics characters, “Riverdale” is a surprising and subversive take on Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Josie and their friends, exploring the surrealism of small town life — the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade.

I heard so much about this TV show and so many people told me I should watch it but I had also heard that it was really scary so I put off watching it because I’m not great with scary things. But I decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did!
It really isn’t scary, it’s quite dark and creepy at points but not scary, which I really like.
The cast for this show is amazing and I love them all!
I would 100% recommend watching this show if you are looking for something new to watch on Netflix.

I have been loving two films this month, neither of them are very new but I have recently discovered them this month.

The first film I loved this month was Bridget Jones’ Baby. I don’t know why I haven’t seen this film before now because it is so good.

Bridget Jones’ Baby synopsis: Breaking up with Mark Darcy leaves Bridget Jones over 40 and single again. Feeling that she has everything under control, Jones decides to focus on her career as a top news producer. Suddenly, her love life comes back from the dead when she meets a dashing and handsome American named Jack. Things couldn’t be better, until Bridget discovers that she is pregnant. Now, the befuddled mom-to-be must figure out if the proud papa is Mark or Jack.

I watched this film when I went over to my friends’ house and we all had a movie night – it was so much fun and we all had a great time.
I have to admit that I haven’t seen any of the other Bridget Jones films but you don’t really need to watch the previous ones before watching this one.
It is sooo funny and I was nearly crying with laughter at some points. Emma Thompson is in this film as the midwife and I think she is absolutely hilarious and one of my favourite actresses.

The second film I have been loving is Now You See Me 2 – if you haven’t seen the first Now You See Me I would definitely recommend it.

Now You See Me 2 Synopsis: After fleeing from a stage show, the illusionists  known as the Four Horsemen find themselves in more trouble in Macau, China. Devious tech wizard Walter Mabry forces the infamous magicians to steal a powerful chip that can control all of the world’s computers. Meanwhile, vengeful FBI agent Dylan Rhodes  hatches his own plot against Thaddeus Bradley, the man he blames for the death of his father.

Most people say that they prefer Now You See Me 1 but I love them both – they are such amazing films.
There are certain scenes in this film that are incredible such as the card throwing scene in the middle of the film – I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it but it is amazing.
I also love the cast, I think they are all hilarious and they all work so well together and also Dave Franco in this film 😍

My random favourite for this month has been this Diptique Rosa Mundi candle, which smells incredible!!
It was a limited edition candle for Valentine’s Day so I don’t want to burn it too often because I am worried that it will run out too quickly.
The packaging is so beautiful and matches the scent perfectly – it has a mix of damascena, the damask rose, and centifolia, the May rose. Additional notes include currant, bergamot, lychee and geranium.
Diptique candles are quite pricey so I got the mini one but I wish I got a bigger size as I love the scent so much.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I have been loving this month, let me know what things you have been loving.

See you next week with a new post,

5 TV Shows to Binge Watch

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite TV Shows that I would 100% recommend Binge watching.
I’ve never done a post like this before but I have been wanting to for a while so I thought I would share it.

Most of these TV Shows you can watch on Netflix in the UK, but Glee you cannot.
Netflix is my saviour when watching TV shows as most of the TV shows I watch are shown on there and most of them aren’t shown on UK TV so this is the only place I can watch them.

*NO SPOILERS about any of these shows*

Glee is my all time favourite TV show!
This is the show that I will always watch if I am feeling down or sad and am in the need of something happy and fun to cheer me up – it is definitely a feel good programme.

Glee is about a group of ambitious misfits who try to escape the harsh realities of high school by joining a glee club, where they find strength, acceptance and, ultimately, their voice, while working to pursue dreams of their own. It follows their lives through high school and beyond with the struggles of relationships, sexuality, high school and the future.

One of my favourite parts of this show is the musical numbers that they perform; in Glee they are done in such a way that they aren’t too cheesy and make more sense as they take place in a choir room format rather than them just breaking out into song randomly like most musicals.

Favourite Female character: Brittney S Pierce played by Heather Morris
Favourite Male character: Blaine Anderson played by Darren Criss

I love this TV show so much!!
If I’m 100% honest it isn’t the best made TV show but I love the characters so much that I don’t mind at all.
This TV show is based on The Mortal Instruments Books by Cassandra Clare that are some of the most amazing books I have ever read – Cassie is such an amazing writer.
As I read the books before watching the TV show, I already had an emotional connection with the characters so I feel like I would like the show no matter what it was like.

Shadowhunters follows Clary Fray, who is a normal teenager living in Brooklyn with her mother. One day, she discovers that she is descended from a line of Shadowhunters; humans born with angelic blood that fight to protect our world from demons. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary must team up with three Shadowhunters: Jace, Alec and Isabelle and her best friend Simon on a quest to find her mother and recover her past.

As I said, this TV show is based on the Mortal Instruments books, however, the TV show doesn’t follow the exact storyline of the books which I actually quite like because nothing is predictable and too boring. Obviously the main plot points are the same and the important things that happen to the characters but the storyline in between that is different. I feel like this is especially good for people like me who have read the books and know what happens.

Favourite Female character: Isabelle Lightwood played by Emeraude Tobia
Favourite Male character: Alec Lightwood played by Matthew Daddario 😍
(also Magnus Bane played by Harry Shum Jr)

Once Upon A Time

As soon as I heard about this programme I knew it was something I was going to love.

The show takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, whose residents are characters from various fairy tales transported to the “real world” town and robbed of their real memories by a powerful curse. It follows the heroine Emma Swan as she protects the town and its inhabitants from various curses and villains, both in Storybooke and other realms.

I love the idea of how they took traditional fairy tale characters that everyone loves and put them in the real world and changed some of their stories. You see lots of different sides to the characters you love and follow them on journeys you would never have seen before.

The show is now on its 6th season which is pretty impressive, but I do think that it is kind of losing it’s spark – I still love all of the characters and their relationships but I feel like they are running out of ideas, which is sad. Season 1-3 are definitely my favourites.

Favourite Female character: Emma Swan played by Jennifer Morrison
Favourite Male character: Killian Jones aka Captain Hook played by Colin O’Donoghue

Gossip Girl

This TV show isn’t anything new and I’m sure pretty much everyone has heard of it but I heard about it for years and only got round to watching it last year.
I don’t know why I hadn’t watched it sooner because it is so good and so addictive.
I think I knew who Gossip Girl was before I started watching it because I heard someone talking about it, I wasn’t 100% sure because I had forgotten but it was in the back of my mind.

Gossip Girl, a ruthless and mysterious blogger reveals secrets about teens in upper east side New York. With roller coaster romances and piles of secrets hiding away for Gossip Girl to find, this show is sure to bring the upper east side and its drama into our lives.

Gossip Girl is a really easy to watch TV show, there is nothing that is too hard to understand and it has a really good plot.
It shows you what it might be like to live and grow up on the Upper East Side of New York.
I think one of the reasons I love this TV show is because it is set in New York and New York is my favourite city in the world.

Favourite Female character: Serena Van Der Woodsen played by Blake Lively
Favourite Male character: Nate Archibald played by Chase Crawford

This is a very new TV show that started at the beginning of 2017 – there aren’t that many episodes at the moment but I am really enjoying it so far.
This show is based on the Archie comics that have been around for 75 years – I never read these comics and never knew anything about the show before I started watching it but I don’t feel like you need to know a lot about it before you start watching it.

Riverdale is a subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade.

When this TV show first came out and heard about it I was a bit scepticle about watching it because I had heard it was really scary and I’m not a big fan of anything remotely scary. However, I decided to give it a try after so many people told me I would like it and found out it really isn’t scary at all. It is a bit creepy and dark as it follows a murder mystery but it isn’t terrifying at all and I am so glad I started watching it.

Favourite Female character: Betty Cooper played by Lili Reinhart
Favourite Male character: Jughead Jones played by Cole Sprouse

I would highly reccomend watching all of these TV shows if you are looking for a new TV show to watch.

I hope you liked this post, let me know if you would like to see more posts like this – I was thinking about doing separate posts on my current favourites that are still being aired on TV such as Shadowhunters and Riverdale, do let me know if that is something that you would like to read.

If you are a fan of any of these TV shows let me know!

See you next week with a new post,

January Favourites 2017

Hey Everyone,

Sorry there wasn’t a post last week, I had my mocks so didn’t have time to take photos and write a blog post. It might happen as it comes up to my exams that I don’t have as much time to write blog posts but I will try to make sure they go up regularly, even if it isn’t every week.

Today I thought I would share with you my January Favourites for 2017. I have a few new discoveries and also some things I have rediscovered. Quite a few of these things were Christmas presents that I have really been loving so I thought I would include them.

This month I tried out a new shampoo and conditioner and have been absolutely loving them. I first saw them when Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella) spoke about them in one of her Vlogmas videos and said she loved them and I thought that if they can make her hair look so great I had to try them!
They are more on the pricey side for a shampoo and conditioner but I have had these since the beginning of the month and I still have so much left – a little bit goes a long way.
They are the OI Shampoo and Conditioner by Davines and I picked them both up on Cult Beauty if you want to try them out – I would highly recommend them.

I don’t know if you could count this as fashion because it is more loungewear/pyjamas but I literally live in loungewear so it is my kind of fashion.
At the beginning of December, Lily Pebbles and Anna from TheAnnaEdit who are two of my favourite YouTubers and bloggers released two jumpers to raise money for the charity Look Good Feel Better and I fell in love with them so knew I had to buy them.
They released two with different sayings on the front: one saying “Loungewear for Life” and the other saying “#Nomakeupday”.
I picked up one of each but my favourite is the Loungewear for Life one.
They are so cozy and comfortable and I have been living in them with these cold winter days we have been having in the UK.

I think there are a few more of the “Loungewear for Life” jumpers left on the website if you want to pick one up but there are very limited now because they were put on sale quite a while ago but I would highly recommend them.
(I may have picked them up in two sizes because I love them so much….ooops!)

I am planning to do a whole blog post on these two jumpers so let me know if that is something you would like to see.

iPhone 7 Plus – At the end of last year my phone contract ran out and I had the opportunity to upgrade my phone and I had seen so many people talking about the iPhone 7 Plus and after doing some research I fell in love with it and decided to upgrade.
When I first saw the plus size phones come out I thought they were way too big and said to myself that I would never get one but when the 7 Plus was released with the incredible camera I decided to take the leap and go for the plus. Now I am so happy that I did and I don’t think I could ever go back to a smaller phone.

Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Tracker – This was one of my Christmas presents this year and I have been using it pretty much every day since I opened it. It is basically a fitness tracker that tracks your steps and sleep. I have a lot of problems with my sleep so my mum got this for me to try and help me keep track of how much sleep I am getting and I have really been enjoying using it. It connects to an app on your phone via Bluetooth so is really easy to use and keep up to date.

I have been wanting some new rose gold earrings for a while so my parents got me these beautiful earrings for Christmas and I love them so much.
They are tiny little sea urchins and they are so beautiful!

One day this month I was feeling really run down and stressed so my mum said we should watch a film and let me choose any film so I chose Frozen. We had such a lovely evening and even my mum said she enjoyed it and she doesn’t really like Disney films so it just made me feel really happy so I wanted to include it.
I love Frozen because of the songs and if I was any Disney Princess I would be Anna. Also, OLAF IS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER EVER!! I literally love him so much and want a real life version of him! That may sound so strange and childish but it is true.

My mum knew my love for Olaf so for Christmas she got me a Swarovski Olaf Pen and it is literally my favourite thing ever!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know what you have been loving this month 🙂

Lazy Winter Days

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my favourite things to do on a cold January day, when I’m feeling lazy and need to have a bit of relaxation.

1. Watch my favourite TV shows

My favourite thing to do on a day when it is cold outside and I just want to stay at home is to watch my favourite TV shows. My all time favourite TV show is Glee so I either get out my box set and sit and watch some episodes or I just watch all the musical performances as they are my favourite to watch and sing along to.
At the moment though I am also re-watching Gossip Girl, which I love! I love the characters plus it is set in New York, my favourite city in the world. Also, a new season of Shadowhunters has just come out which I am watching every week and it is another one of my favourite shows.
2. Read a good book

I often forget about reading books I enjoy as I am either reading educational books for school or I just go and watch TV, YouTube or go on my phone rather than picking up a good book.
At the moment I am reading ‘Scrappy Little Nobody’ by Anna Kendrick and I am really enjoying it so far. I am planning on doing a review on it when I have finished reading it so let me know if that is something you would like to read.

3. Paint my nails

Painting my nails is one of the beauty tasks that I really don’t like doing, I am quite impatient so I get quite bored when trying to paint my nails but when I have a longer period of time or I am watching a film I will sit down and paint my nails and I am always happy I did afterwards.

4. Have a nice warm bath

Baths are one of my favourite things to have in the winter time when it is cold and miserable outside. I find it a wonderful time to just completely relax and unwind and forget about all the stress and things you have to do. I also sometimes spend the time catching up on YouTube videos or watching a film to really chill.

5. Spend time with friends and family

When we are all so busy it is really hard to find time to spend time with family and friends outside of work or school so these days when everyone has nothing on it is nice to catch up with friends or spend time with family at home.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some things to do on these cold, winter’s days we have been having in the UK recently.

See you next week with a new post!

Beauty Discoveries of 2016

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my Beauty Discoveries of 2016.
I discovered some amazing products in 2016 from Skincare, to Make up and more.

(From Left to Right)

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer: I use this product pretty much every day without fail. I use it on days where I’m not wearing a full face of makeup, so when I go to school or just out and about. It is so great and makes your eyelashes look so long and separated. I also use it as it’s meant to be, as a primer underneath mascara and that also works really well.

Revlon ColourStay Foundation: I first discovered this foundation by chance when I needed a foundation for my school ball and I recently re-purchased it with the new pump lid and I have been reaching for it pretty much every time I want to wear a full face of make up.

Body Shop Lightening Drops: I have the most annoying problem of having ridiculously pale skin and I can never find a foundation that matches my skin colour. When I saw that these existed I was so happy and they have become my life saver! You just add these drops to your regular foundation and it makes it lighter, so you can match your foundation to your skin colour. They also do darkening drops to make your foundation darker.

Tanya Burr Lipstick in Pink Cocoa: This was a discovery I found towards the end of the year, about September time but I absolutely love it. Tanya released some new make up products, which included a range of lipsticks and I picked this one up and has become one of my favourite lipsticks. It is a lovely browny, pink and is perfect for autumn winter time.

Nars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love: This is meant to be a highlighting blush but I actually use it as a bronzer/contour shade and because I have very pale skin it works really well. It is slightly shimmery so it isn’t perfect for contouring but I really like it and use it regularly.

Hourglass Powder in Diffused Light: My mum got me this powder for my birthday and I absolutely love it. It is a nice alternative to using a mattifying powder as it makes your skin look more glowy and pretty. It is also lovely to use in the summer.

Tanya Burr Baby It’s Cold Outside Cheek Palette: I haven’t had this for very long but I just had to include it because I love it so much. The blush and highlight shades in this palette are beautiful and are perfect for autumn and winter but I would probably wear them all year round.  It isn’t the best for travelling because the packaging is quite bulky but I would take it anyway because I use it all the time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette: I have featured this palette in quite a few blog posts last year – I picked this up when I went to New York in August as it was cheaper over there but I love it. The shades are so beautiful and are such good quality and I have been wearing them a lot through autumn and winter.

Zoella Beauty Hungry Hands Hand Cream: This hand cream is from Zoe’s Christmas range and I absolutely love it. The scent is the first thing that I love because it smells of gingerbread and all things Christmassy but it also makes your hands feel so soft.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish: The cleanse & polish itself isn’t a new discovery as I have been using it for quite a while but at Christmas they released a new scent (sweet orange and clove) which is my all time favourite and reminds me of Christmas.

Huygens Exfoliating Cream: I first tried this product quite a while ago when I got a sample in a Birch-box and loved it so I purchased the full size. I don’t use it all the time, I just use it when I feel like my skin needs an exfoliate and it makes my skin feel really soft and clean.

Zoella Beauty Le Fizz: In the summer Zoe released a new range of products with a new scent and I love it. My two favourite products from the whole range were the Bath Fizzers and the Bubble Bath – they smell amazing and are the perfect mix for a lovely bath.

Aveda Stress Fix Bath Salts: These salts are so lovely and make me feel so relaxed. They have the most amazing smell that instantly make you feel relaxed, I use these in the bath whenever I feel stressed and need to chill.

Smith & Cult Nail Polish:  2016 was the year I fell in love with Smith & Cult Nail Polishes. I first discovered them when Anna from TheAnnaEdit talked about them on her YouTube channel and blog; when she mentioned the colour Doe My Dear I just knew I had to pick it up. When we went to New York in August I picked up three colours as they were cheaper in the US than in the UK. They still aren’t the cheapest nail polishes but they are such good quality and last so long on your nails so I would 100% say they are worth it.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

My Ultimate Christmas Playlist

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my Ultimate Christmas Playlist.
There are so many great Christmas songs and I put all of my favourite ones together.

I feel like there is something really comforting about listening to Christmas music. As December approaches and in the lead up to Christmas, listening to Christmas music really helps you get into the festive spirit.
There is nothing better than turning your music up and dancing around your room to Christmas songs or singing along with your friends.

In my playlist I have some of the great classics and some covers, my favourites being all the Glee ones as I am a massive Glee fan.

As I said in my Christmas Tag, my top 3 favourite Christmas songs (not counting the Glee songs) are:

1. All I want for Christmas is You by Maria Carey
2. Merry Christmas Everyone by the Shakin Stevens
3. Do they know its Christmas (2014) by Band Aid 30

I hope you enjoy listening to some of the songs on my Christmas Playlist!

Top 5 Favourite Christmas Films

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are enjoying my Christmas posts so far! Today I thought I would share with you my Top 5 favourite Christmas films.
I feel like there is a film for everyone here and one for every age.

Home Alone 1-4

I have always loved the home alone films as they were some of the first Christmas films I ever watched when I was younger so they will always have a place in my heart. My favourite would have to my number 3 but I do love the original as well.

The storyline for the first one is that the large McCallister family is going on holiday and they accidentally their 8-year-old son Kevin at home. Lots of things happen while he is home alone and he has to protect his house from two thieves trying to break in.

Surprisingly, the first time I saw this film was last Christmas; I had heard everyone talking about it and I knew I had to watch it. It is such a funny film and will definitely make you smile.

Elf is about Buddy the Elf, who finds out he isn’t actually an elf so he travels from the North Pole to New York to find his real father and you follow his journey to find his family.

The Holiday

I really like this film as it is one of those feel good films that you can just put on and watch without really having to think about anything. I do have to say though that I prefer the half of the film with Cameron Diaz and Jude Law.
Plus have you seen Jude Law in this film 😍

This film is about two women who want to get away from their lives for Christmas so they do a house swap. And of course like any rom-com, they both meet a man and it follows both their stories to find love at Christmas.

I haven’t watched this film many times but I have great memories of watching it the first time with my family. I was on holiday with my parents, my brother, my aunt, uncle and cousins and we all sat down to watch it on Christmas Eve and we were all laughing and having a great time! It’s such a cute feel good film to watch that will put a smile on your face.

Nativity is about a primary school teacher who is trying to compete with another school with who’s nativity play is going to be the best and he boasts about how his ex-girlfriend is a Hollywood Producer who will be turning the play into a film, which isn’t true. So, he has to try and find a way to get his ex-girlfriend to come back and help them all out.

Love Actually

This film is a great romantic comedy and has lots of different story lines that come together which is one of the things I like about it.

Love Actually follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives, all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.

New Year’s Eve

I know this isn’t technically a Christmas film but it is one of all time favourite films. I love to watch it all year round but in the winter especially it makes me feel very cozy and happy.

New Year’s Eve is similar to Love Actually as you follow the lives of several couples and singles in New York as they intertwine over the course of New Year’s Eve.

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know what your favourite Christmas films are so hopefully I can discover some new ones.

Favourite Autumn Nail Polishes

Hey Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you my favourite nail polishes for Autumn.

In Autumn the shades I wear most of the time are purply, burgundy shades but I also love to wear greys when I don’t want something as dark.

Smith & Cult Doe My Dear

This colour has to be one of my favourites that I own. I saw Anna from TheAnnaEdit talking about it in one of her videos and fell in love with it but didn’t know if I wanted to spend that much money on one nail polish. However, when I went to New York in the summer the Smith & Cult nail polishes were all so much cheaper than in the UK so I picked a few up.
It is the perfect everyday shade and it goes with pretty much everything as most of what I wear is either grey or black. Smith & Cult Nail Polishes are such high quality and they have to be my favourite formula of nail polish I have tried.

Leighton Denny Passion

This nail polish was my mums but she never wore it so I borrowed it and never gave it back!
It is such a pretty dark red shade that is also quite Christmassy so I tend to wear it closer to December and in the run up to Christmas.

Chanel 18 Rouge Noir

This was a Christmas present last year from my parents and I feel like it is the perfect Autumn colour and it is a dark purple/burgundy colour.
Chanel reformulated their nail polishes last year so they are so much longer lasting now so the polish stays on your nails for such a long time.

Essie Bahama Mama

This is more of a pinky purple so it could be worn in summer or autumn/winter but it is still a beautiful shade. Essie nail polishes have always been some of my favourites as they are quite long wearing and good quality.

Tanya Burr Sugar Plum

This nail polish was from Tanya Burr’s Christmas collection last year so unfortunately it isn’t available any more but I love the shade so I thought I would share it anyway.
As these nail polishes are quite cheap, they aren’t the highest quality or most long wearing but it is still really pretty and a great autumnal colour.

Here are all the shades when they are on the nails.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if there are any nail polish shades you think I should try.

See you next week with another post,
